Creating a Day Full of Peace, Joy, and Presence

One of the most common questions I get from my sweet couples is:

“What should our wedding day timeline look like?”

And I get it—planning can feel overwhelming. But friend, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to help you build a day that feels like you: filled with meaning, unrushed, and soaked in the love of your people and the presence of God.

Below is a sample timeline based on a traditional wedding with a first look and 8 hours of coverage. We’ll always adjust based on your priorities, location, and the unique rhythm of your day.

12:00 PM – Photographer Arrives / Details & Getting Ready

I’ll start with flat lay details (invites, rings, shoes, jewelry, etc.) while you finish hair and makeup. Then we’ll get candid moments of you and your people getting ready, laughing, praying, and soaking in the joy.

Tip: Have all your details gathered in a box ahead of time to save you stress!

1:30 PM – Bride Gets Dressed

We’ll capture you getting into your gown, emotional moments with your mom or best friends, and all the happy tears.

2:00 PM – First Look & Portraits

A quiet, emotional moment between just the two of you. I step back and let it unfold naturally. Afterward, we take couple portraits—relaxed and joyful.

3:00 PM – Wedding Party Photos

We’ll grab fun, energetic shots of you with your bridesmaids and groomsmen. If time allows, we’ll take individual portraits too!

3:45 PM – Family Portraits

We keep this part efficient and joyful. A list ahead of time helps us move quickly so your family can head to the ceremony relaxed and ready.

4:30 PM – Hide Away / Freshen Up

A moment to breathe before the ceremony begins. You deserve it.

5:00 PM – Ceremony

The heart of your day. This is where everything leads to—and where all the photos begin to feel truly sacred. The moment you say yes to forever.

5:45 PM – Just Married Portraits

Right after the ceremony glow is my favorite. That just married joy is real and beautiful.

6:15 PM – Grand Entrance + Dinner

You make your entrance, guests celebrate, and you get a moment to eat and soak it in. I'll capture the joy unfolding candidly.

7:15 PM – Toasts, Cake Cutting & First Dances

Heartfelt speeches, emotional dances, maybe a few surprises—it’s all captured with care.

8:00 PM – Open Dance Floor

Time to let loose! This is where memories are made and joy overflows. I’ll be there for the laughs, spins, and spontaneous moments.

9:00 PM – Golden Hour Portraits (Optional)

If the timing works, we sneak away for just 10 minutes of dreamy golden hour portraits—your first sunset as a married couple.

9:45 PM – Last Dance / Grand Exit

Whether it’s sparklers, bubbles, or a private last dance—this is the moment to close your day with meaning.

Rooted in Peace, Not Pressure

Whether your day follows this timeline or takes a completely different shape, remember this:

The most important thing is that it reflects who you are.

It’s not about trends, expectations, or Pinterest-perfect checklists—it’s about creating space for joy, peace, and presence.

As your photographer, I’ll be by your side—offering direction where needed and fading into the background when you just need to be. My hope is that your wedding day feels as sacred as your vows and as personal as your love story.

You don’t just get photos—you get a friend who cares deeply and walks this day with you.
